Alyx Andrushuk is a professional Dancer, Choreographer and Educator currently residing in Los Angeles, but originally from Winnipeg, MB! She's trained in numerous styles of dance and feels lucky to call it her career and passion. She has performed alongside: Selena Gomez, Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin, Florida Georgia Line, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, Leona Lewis, Chayanne, Prince Royce, Smashing Pumpkins, Empire of the Sun, and many more!
Featured on TV shows such as: Dancing with the Stars, SYTYCD, Masked Singer, American Idol, X-Factor, Billboard Music Awards, Gilmore Girls, AMA’s, Good Morning America, MTV Movie Awards, Radio Disney, The Late Late show with James Corden and more!
Alyx was the choreographer on SYFY’s The Magicians. She's taught at numerous dance studios all across North America including Edge Performing Arts Center and Millennium Dance Complex LV. She has also been a movement coach for many upcoming artists and has assisted alongside some of the best choreographers in the industry.
Mary is so honoured to be part of Made in Manitoba. Born in Winnipeg, she trained all over Canada, graduating from The Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. She has performed in shows across North America including Cabaret (Royal Manitoba Theatre Center), Legally Blonde (Neptune Theatre), and West Side Story (Paramount Theatre and Asolo Rep). She spent 3 seasons at The Stratford Festival (West Side Story, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Peter Pan, Camelot, Jesus Christ Superstar) and is proud to have been part of the 1st National Tour of Disney’s Aladdin. Her Broadway credits include Jesus Christ Superstar, Aladdin, and she was part of the original cast of The Prom. Mary has been lucky to appear on The Tonys, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Good Morning America, The View, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In addition to performing, Mary has taught and adjudicated for many years and has a passion for her community and fellow artists.
Josh is a New York City based choreographer, performer and educator. His work has spanned across every area of the entertainment industry including Broadway, National Tours, fashion, film and television. He has worked in major venues worldwide including United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe
Choreographic credits include New York Fashion Week, Audi, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Modos Furniture as well as regional productions of Mary Poppins, Cinderella, Newsies and the world premiere of Medicine, which ran in New York City, Off-Broadway. He was the associate choreographer for the Saturday Night Fever National Tour as well as the Canadian premier of Newsies at Drayton Entrainment. This fall he will be choreographing The Sound Of Music which will play both the Royal MTC as well as The Citadel Theater.
As a performer, favorite credits include Neleus in Disney’s Mary Poppins on Broadway as well as the 1st National Tour, Disney’s Newsies 1st National Tour (asst. Dance Captain), Baby John in West Side story at the Stratford Festival, Wizard Of Oz National Tour. He has appeared on NBC's Saturday Night Live with Jimmy Fallon as well as ABC’s The Chew. Josh has been featured in Dance Spirit Magazine, Dance Canada Quarterly, Industry Dance Magazine and Dance Plug Los Angeles. He has taught at Edge Performing Arts Center and is currently on faculty at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City where he has been a guest choreographer for many of their events.
Nyk is an actor originally hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has spent the last 7 years in the Book of Mormon on Broadway, National North American Tour, Australia and more recently New Zealand. Other credits include: Sunday in the Park with George, The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, Avenue Q, Spring Awakening, As You Like It, Speech and Debate, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He has also appeared in countless concerts and cabarets around New York City. He trained at the University of Winnipeg and is a graduate of the Honours Acting Program, and at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (New York and Los Angeles). He also likes: Hawaiian shirts, doggos, saying “rad”, Harmontown, Law & Order SVU (the others are garbage), cured meats, pressing buttons, receiving texts, the last bite of an ice cream cone, the first bite of a slice of za, gas pipe shelving, hockey (on ice), slow dancing, luxury goods, and the internet.
Josh is a young up and coming musical theatre artist in the city. In his first year embarking the world of theatre, he was cast in his first show at the Fringe - Journey To Kalcedon Island with Kiss The Giraffe Productions. He is immensely proud to have been a part of Winnipeg Studio Theatre's 2018 season: Reefer Madness and Pippin (Co-produced with The Village Conservatory. He was also a part of the StudioWorks Academy - WST’s adult emerging artists program and played the lead Horton in Seussical the Musical! Currently, he is the co-creator of a locally curated original musical, MA-BUHAY! about Filipino's singing for their lives. Josh has grown tremendously with Winnipeg Studio Theatre and he is excited to be back to share everything he has learned.
Alexandra “Alex” Frohlinger is a New York based actor, singer, dancer and teaching artist. She has performed, adjudicated and taught all over the world from the USA to Canada to the United Arab Emirates. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Alex trained at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet school (studying all styles of dance) before obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, in Musical Theater, from The Boston Conservatory. Most recently, Alex was seen in the First National Tour of “Hello, Dolly!” starring Betty Buckley. She played (“the first singing”) Anybodys on the First National Tour of “West Side Story” (which toured the USA, Canada and inaugurated the Theatre Orb in Tokyo, Japan). She appeared on Broadway in the original cast of “Soul Doctor” the musical. Alex also toured the USA and Canada in the cast of the First National Tour of “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.” Off-Broadway, She played the role of Sadie in The National Yiddish Theater’s production of “Amerike: The Golden Land”, which was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. Regionally Alexandra has performed at Arena Stage in Washington, DC, at The Sacramento Music Circus, in California and at Rainbow Stage and the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg. Samantha is honored to be a part of the Made in Manitoba series! Proudly born and raised in Winnipeg, she is currently an actor, singer, retired dancer, arts educator based in New York City. Samantha trained in theatre at the University of Winnipeg before getting her BFA in acting from the prestigious conservatory program at the University of Alberta. Since then, Samantha has performed all across North America, most notably on Broadway as Cosette in the original revival of Les Mis and Christine in the 25th anniversary production of The Phantom of the Opera. Frequently returning to Canada to perform, she was most recently seen in Winnipeg this past winter in RMTC’s production of Christmas at Pemberley. Other selected theatre credits include From the Earth to the Moon, Kris Kringle, (Off-Broadway), the original comedy What We May Be (Berkshire Theatre Festival), South Pacific (Drury Lane Chicago), Gracie (PTE), August Osage County (RMTC), Spring Awakening (WST), Chicago (Mayfield), The Light in the Piazza (Dry Cold) and numerous productions with Rainbow Stage. Samantha loves working with young people and teaches for Broadway Workshop in NYC. During quarantine Samantha has only almost burnt down her kitchen once and is saving her money so she can see every show on Broadway TWICE when it reopens!
After his first professional job in Peter Pan for Rainbow Stage, Joshua left Winnipeg to study at Sheridan College’s prestigious musical theatre program and then moved to London, England to complete his Masters degree at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He is now based in the UK working as a musical theatre performer and voiceover artist. Onstage he’s played The Artful Dodger in Oliver! (Drayton Entertainment), Arpad Lazslo in She Loves Me (Landor Theatre), Evan Mann in the UK premiere of See Rock City: and Other Destinations and Hollis Bessemer in Road Show (Union Theatre) and most recently played Nigel in the International Tour of Matilda the Musical. Behind the microphone, Joshua has provided the voices of Fox in the touring production of Franklin and the Noble Knights (KOBA), Hunter De Vil in 101 Dalmatian Street (Disney+) and Teepee in Sadie Sparks(Family Channel) and is host of an interview podcast called Better Your World on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Joshua also works as a yoga teacher and teacher trainer and is continuing the research from his dissertation at Central about how yoga can supplement and integrate the three disciplines of musical theatre as well as support positive mental health in performers.
Jean-Marc Lafond is a professional makeup artist and designer for the stage. Based in Winnipeg he has designed and painted for most of the stages in Winnipeg. After studying Stage Make at UofW, Jean-Marc started his makeup career in 2007 with the Manitoba Opera Association painting chorus faces. He has remained with the MOA ever since, now serving as the Head Principals Assistant. He has served as Head of Makeup for the former Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Winnipeg and the All Dentist Musicals hosted by Prairie Theatre Exchange. In 2016 he served as Head of Makeup and Prosthetics for ‘Shrek: the Musical’ at Rainbow Stage. Recently he was part of the Evie Award winning ‘Cantatrice Chauve’ team at the Cercle Molière, in charge of cast make-up tutelage. A profoundly engaging human, Jean-Marc’s skills and positive approach will engage you through all steps of the make-up application process.
Andrea's professional performing career spans over 25 years. A graduate from Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division, she has continued to evolve in contemporary and musical theater styles, in such productions as Celine Dion's A New Day, Cirque du Soleil, Chicago International tour. A current resident of Minneapolis MN, she has most recently performed at the Guthrie Theater (West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Cyrano de Bergerac), Chanhassen Dinner Theaters (Holiday Inn, Music Man), The Ordway (Smokey Joe's Cafe), and in Collide Theatrical's original jazz dance musicals.
Andrea has taught master classes internationally in ballet, contemporary, musical theatre, and Fosse technique. A personal movement coach, her focus is to guide a more efficient way of moving and deeper understanding of technique in every style.
Kathleen Moore is a Winnipegger, who has called Australia home since 2005. Kathleen has an Honours Degree in Theatre from the University of Winnipeg, with post graduate studies in Opera and Art Song at the University of Toronto. Her Canadian Stage Works include, ‘Page’ Seesaw, (MTYP), ‘Clarice/Brigella’ The Servant of Two Masters, (MTYP) and ‘Phillis’ Iolanthe (G&S Society of Winnipeg). Her professional Australian credits include, ‘Wardrobe/Confidante’ The Phantom of the Opera Australasian Tour & International Tour (RUC/GFO), ‘Edith Cover’ The Pirates of Penzance Sydney Opera House(Opera Australia), ‘Clara’ in the Australian Production of The Light in the Piazza, (Lyric Theatre, Sydney), ‘Yelenka’ Dr. Zhivago, The Musical Australian Tour(GFO), ‘Sr. Margaretta Cover’ The Sound of Music Australian Tour (GFO), ‘Mme Schaunard’ La Bohème (HOSH/Opera Australia), ‘Mamma’ Evita (GFO/Opera Australia). Kathleen joined the Australian cast of Come From Away as Standby to ‘Bonnie, Hannah, Beverley, and Beulah’. Kathleen is thrilled to be a part of the Masterclass Series, where she will be teaching about the Professional Musical Theatre Auditions.
Kimberley Rampersad is a theatre practitioner from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty 1 Territory. Last season she was featured in the New York Times for her production of Man and Superman (Shaw Festival); directed Intimate Apparel (WJT); directed and choreographed two productions of The Color Purple (Neptune & Citadel/ RMTC, respectfully); choreographed Matilda – The Musical (RMTC/ Citadel/ Arts Club); and appeared as Lila Dixon in Holiday Inn (Shaw Festival). As a dance educator, Kimberley completed her teaching certification at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. She has taught across the country and was a part of the team which developed the K-8 dance curriculum for the Province of Manitoba’s Department of Education. She has been recognized with Merritt, Evie, and Prix Rideau Awards, and Dora, Sterling and Ovation nominations. She is the recipient of the 2017 Gina’s Prize, a Guthrie Award (Stratford) and a Maud Whitmore Scholarship (Charlottetown Festival.) Kimberley is the current Associate Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival and a graduate of the University of Manitoba.
Jaz is excited to return home to Winnipeg where he was raised and trained as a performing artist. A graduate of the Grant Park performing arts program, Jaz also studied at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for 6 years. Favourite Winnipeg theatre credits include: Big, The King & I, Joseph…, Beauty & the Beast and The Wizard of Oz (Rainbow Stage), Seussical (MTYP), She Loves Me (Dry Cold), Guys & Dolls (RMTC). Other Canadian companies include: Theatre Aquarius, Drayton, The Grand Theatre, The Citadel, Theatre Calgary, Stage West, Neptune Theatre, Port Hope, Ross Petty’s Panto, 2 seasons at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and the North American Premiere of Dirty Dancing (Mirvish). Jaz made his Broadway debut in 2012 with Stratford’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar. For the past 6 years, Jaz has appeared in over 2500 performances as an original cast member of Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway and its 1st National Tour. With Aladdin, he’s had the opportunity to perform on the Tony Awards, Good Morning America, The View and at the White House for the Obama family. When Broadway returns, so will he to the production.
Joseph Sevillo is a musical theatre veteran, born and raised in Winnipeg MB, and is a graduate of the Grant Park Performing Arts Program under the direction of George Budoloski and Robin Dow. He has 23 years of professional experience in musical theatre and has been mentored by Patti Caplette, the artistic director of Koba Entertainment in choreography and childrens theatre creation. Joseph is the co-creator of Ma-buhay Musical! the first ever Manitoba made Canadian Filipino Musical that is being produced by Rainbow Stage. He has performed all across Canada in such shows as: Mamma Mia! (2 years with the Mirvish Company). He’s also the original Jojo in the Canadian Premiere of Seussical the Musical at Young Peoples Theatre in Toronto. Other select credits include : Miss Saigon (Drayton Festival), Beauty and the Beast (Citadel and Theatre Calgary), Evita (The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and Theatre Calgary) and has performed in 13 shows at Rainbow Stage. Favorite credits include : Angel in RENT, Pepper in Mamma Mia, Joe Vegas in Fame, Chino in Westside Story,Paul in A Chorus Line (w/ the WSO) to name a few. Joseph is also a musical theatre instructor at the Shelley Shearer School Of Dance, The Manitoba Conservatory Music Equals Program, and is a choreographer for After School Leaders Program and the Musical Theatre Company at MTYP and is the co-founder of Broadway Dance Convention. Joseph has performed in three Winnipeg Studio Theatre Shows including : Leading Player in Pippin, Mark in Altar Boyz (w/ PTE ) and in American Idiot.
A proud Manitoban, Markian is a former student and alumni of Winnipeg Studio Theatre. Since graduating from Vancouver’s Studio 58 theatre program in 2014, Markian has gone on to a career predominantly in film and television. His credits include lead and supporting roles in Status Update, Project Mc2 (Netflix), Christmas Jars, The Murders(CityTV), The Magicians (SyFy), Supernatural, iZombie (CW), Take Two (ABC), 50 States of Fright (Quibi), Bunks (Disney), Britney Forever After (Lifetime), A Homecoming for the Holidays, A Time to Dance (Hallmark). Markian has also appeared in many times on stage including Billy Elliot and Over The Tavern (RMTC) and Footloose, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, The Full Monty (Rainbow Stage). Joseph Tritt is a music director/composer/arranger based in Toronto. Recent credits as music director include: Disney’s Freaky Friday (Theatre Aquarius), Once (Grand Theatre/RMTC), Lucky Stiff (Drayton Entertainment), Billy Elliot, Cabaret (RMTC), The Producers, Les Misérables (Rainbow Stage), Crazy For You (Sheridan College), and three pantomimes with Ross Petty Productions at the Elgin/Winter Garden Theatres. As a composer/arranger, Joseph has spent two seasons at the Shaw Festival, contributing music to The Madness of George III and Man and Superman. He is also a graduate of the Shaw Festival Music Direction Internship, under Paul Sportelli, where he had the opportunity to conduct and play keyboard for Jackie Maxwell’s production of Sweeney Todd at the Festival Theatre. Joseph studied at the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Manitoba. He is currently an instructor at Sheridan College, where he teaches the Music Direction discipline as part of their newly introduced Artistic Teams Course.
