Step back in time to the 1600s, where societal norms suffocate the aspirations of women, banning them from the stage. Yet, within the dimly lit walls of The Cage Tavern, a revolution is brewing. Six bold women defy the oppressive laws that confine their creativity and ambition. As they embrace the transformative power of theatre, and find their voices they must also find the courage to perform in front of an audience.
This production of Miss Shakespeare featured an all local cast and creative team of women and non-binary artists.
“We believe making theatre is like making a child, if you want to be truly successful… you need more than just a penis.” – Miss Shakespeare
