Audition Workshop with Samantha Hill December 20, 12-4 pm
The goal of this workshop is to help students improve their confidence and awareness from the moment they walk into an audition room to the moment they exit. We will mimic an actual audition setting and go step by step through the process as well as work on acting moments in the student’s songs in order to support stronger future audition experiences. Please prepare a musical theatre song approx. 2 minutes in length
After working extensively in Canadian theatre, Samantha moved to New York to star as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Most recently, she finished her run in the original Broadway revival cast of Les Miserables starring as Cosette. Her Canadian theatre experience includes work at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Rainbow Stage, Dry Cold Productions, Shakespeare in the Ruins, Winnipeg Studio Theatre Mayfield Theatre amongst others. A graduate of the BA Theatre program at the University of Winnipeg and the BFA Acting Conservatory at the University of Alberta, Samantha will us.
Sam also came to the Musical Theatre class at the University of Winnipeg to do a special talk on living as an actor in New York City. (Photo below)
